KITCHI GAMMI CLUB
Car Features

The Kitchi Gammi Club was built in 1923 by the famous Pullman Company of Chicago, Illinois.  Designed to accomodate the highest standards of post-Victorian luxury train travel, the Kitchi Gammi Club was built with open-section sleeping arrangements.  Each of these sections feature two bunked beds that fold away to create comfortable seating and a table for two.  These open-section sleeping arrangments were one of the most important innovations in train travel at the turn of the 20th century, boosting railroads from a simple mode of transportation to a pinnacle of luxury travel.

The Kitchi Gammi Club retains five of its original open-section berths (for a total of ten bunks), and is the only Amtrak-certified passenger car with these historic sleeping accomodations intact.  Combined with a master bedroom featuring a queen bed and a smaller crew bedroom with a twin bed, the Kitchi Gammi Club can comfortably sleep thirteen passengers.  Passengers in the open-section berths will enjoy authentic Pullman bedding from the 1920s to complete their historic experience, while passengers in the bedrooms can enjoy all of the modern conveniences of normal household mattresses and linens.

While the Kitchi Gammi Club retains much of its historic splendor, it has been upgraded to provide all of the comforts and amenities of the modern home.  Two bathrooms (one with a stainless steel stall shower), a state-of-the-art stainless steel kitchen, full control air conditioning and heating, and an onboard generator are just some of the upgraded features that make this passenger car totally self-sufficient as a rolling hotel room or a “home away from home.”

The Kitchi Gammi Club is certified to run on all Amtrak trains in the U.S. and Canada, and is also available for private charter for events, corporate gatherings, or trips.  Chefs, porters, and other crew members are also available for hire to complete the historic Pullman experience.  So step aboard and enjoy luxury rail travel!
